
EARLY RELEASE TOMORROW DUE TO STORM FORECAST! Wayne County will be releasing 3 hours early tomorrow (Thursday, April 11, 2024) to get our kids home before the predicted storms.

BMS has four students in the Huntington Museum of Art Portfolio 2024! This is a very prestigious event, and we are beyond proud of the kids.

SOLAR ECLIPSE - Guidance from Wayne County BOE


MALACHI CHILDERS - March 2024 8th Grade Student of the Month - Malachi has become a wonderful example of a student and athlete. He is doing great work in class and has a good attitude and sense of humor. He has scored over 500 points in basketball during his middle school tenure.


WESTON BLEIGH - March 2024 8th Grade Student of the Month - Weston is always quiet and listening. He has a strong love of animals. He is very helpful, polite, and kind to both students and staff.


MASON MARCUM - March 2024 7th Grade Student of the Month - Mason always participates and works hard. He is always willing to help anyone who is struggling, is a good team player when it comes to group work and is always determined to do his best.


JOCELYN RONEY - March 2024 7th Grade Student of the Month - She is always ready to work and participate. She is easy to talk to, is always friendly, and joking around with her peers. She isn't afraid to ask questions which opens the floor to others.


DERRICK SMITH - March 2024 6th Grade Student of the Month - Derrick brings positive energy to the classroom as soon as he walks in. He is a leader and a resilient student who is always working towards his goals.


HOPE SLONE - March 2024 6th Grade Student of the Month - Hope is a responsible student who is always doing her very best in the classroom. She is diligent, attentive, and organized. We enjoy having her in class.


Families: This letter will be coming home today detailing Wayne County's plan for the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. We will have school that day on a normal schedule. Tomorrow through April 5th is Spring Break! We will see everyone back at school on the 8th!

We had a great showing yesterday at the Regional Social Studies Fair in Mason County. All of our participants placed! Our first place winners will be moving on to the State Competition on April 10th in Charleston!

Our eighth-grade students took a trip to the Spring Valley CTE last week to see the programs available to them in high school. There are currently 5 programs they can start in as freshmen. We have also added a PDF with more information under Documents on our website!
